Aging in Place/Universal Design

Let’s be honest, nobody likes to talk about aging. Or if you do, consider yourself in the minority!

Aging in place is the industry-coined term, but at Imagine Remodeling, we like to call it “home for life” because we’ve come across a number of homeowners who just want to have the choice to stay in their home as long and as comfortably as they can regardless of age, income or ability level.

Today, 85% of seniors are choosing to stay in their home over moving into assisted living or living with family members. As Fresno’s ONLY certified aging in place contractor, our customers are given the opportunity to reconfigure any space to best fit their needs and the power to make their own decision about their future.

Another reason we prefer home for life or universal design over aging in place is because aging is not the only reason a remodel can greatly improve a person’s living arrangements. Whether it’s a disability, disease, permanent injury, or a unique profession, transforming a home into a fully functional space depending on a specific set of needs is why universal design is becoming more of a priority and less of a trend across the remodeling industry.

We offer many universal design options for your home that include:

BATHROOMS:

  • Barrier free showers
  • Adjustable shower devices
  • Seating
  • Walk-in tubs
  • Slip resistant flooring
  • Grab bars
  • Higher toilets
  • And more

KITCHENS:

  • Knee space cabinets
  • Varied Ht. Counter Tops
  • Pull Down Upper Cabinets
  • Accessible Appliances
  • Drawers and Pull Outs
  • And more

OTHER:

  • Hard Flooring
  • Door Widening
  • Front & Rear Door Ramps
  • Lifts
  • Door Levers
  • Handrails
  • And more

Imagine Remodeling is Fresno’s only certified again in place specialist (CAPS) and is accredited by the National Association of Home Builders. Because remodeling requires flexibility in routine for a given amount of time, we want to make sure our customers understand every detail of our process and its impact before we begin.
